Join Arlington Children’s Theatre for an exciting lineup of classes and workshops designed to ignite creativity and confidence in young performers! Our upcoming six-week classes, tailored for ages 6-9, will run throughout the fall and spring, offering a fun and nurturing environment for budding actors.
We are thrilled to offer a variety of workshops next season in playwriting, improv, Broadway dance, clowning, and much more. Improv for All

Love Dropout, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, or just cracking absurd jokes? Come explore the world of improv comedy in this fast-paced, two-hour workshop! Through fun games and storytelling exercises, you’ll learn to think on your feet, embrace spontaneity, and maybe even make a new friend—no guarantees, but hey, it’s improv!

About the Instructor
Max Moline is a Boston-based theatre artist and educator, originally from Davenport, IA. He specializes in educational theatre, new works, and improvisation. A graduate of St. Ambrose University, Max has directed and taught at Davenport Junior Theatre, QC Theatre Workshop, and other Quad City theatres.
As an actor and improviser, he recently performed in the world premiere of The Vanishing by Aaron Randolph III and on the ComedySportz stage. Favorite credits include An Oak Tree, The Skokie Charter Detective School, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) (revised) (again), and Gruesome Playground Injuries.

Stage Combat

Join professional fight director J.T. Turner for an introduction to both unarmed and sword combat for the stage. Learn proper techniques for staged punches, slaps, binds, blocks, and attacks, as well as essential footwork. This workshop focuses on safety, sustainability, and effective storytelling, equipping actors with the foundational skills to bring fight choreography to life.

About the Instructor
J.T. Turner is a member of the Society of American Fight Directors and Fight Directors Canada, and has choreographed scenes of violence for theater and film for over 40 years. Audition Techniques for Beginners

Ready to step into the spotlight? This workshop is perfect for beginners looking to build confidence and develop essential audition skills. Participants will learn the basics of audition preparation, then put their skills to the test in a mock audition. Each actor will receive personalized monologue feedback and have the opportunity to make adjustments in real time.

About the Instructor
Connie Cifelli is an actor, educator, and some-times stage manager. She has worked with several theatre companies in the Boston area, including Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Company One, New Rep Theatre, and Boston Casting. She has taught two classes with ACT and previously served as the stage manager for Junie B. Jones and assistant director for The Wizard of Oz.
Physical Comedy

This high-energy, two-hour workshop explores the fundamentals of physical comedy, including slapstick, exaggerated movement, and comedic timing. Through interactive exercises and classic techniques, you’ll learn how to use your body to create hilarious, engaging performances. Perfect for actors, improvisers, and anyone who loves to make people laugh!

About the Instructor
Marci Diamond, M.P.A., CPT, AEA, SAG-AFTRA, has served as Intimacy, Fight and/or Movement Director for Moonbox Productions (Twelfth Night, Shipwrecked!, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Tufts University (Jihad Jones, Much Ado, We’re Here), Merrimack College (Twelfth Night, The Moors), Misfit Artists (Othello, Jeckyll & Hyde), Borderline Players (The Girl on The Train), Walnut Hill School (Orpheus in the Underworld), Boston Latin (The Play That Goes Wrong, Dontrell Who Kissed the Sea), Lightning House Players (Today’s América) and the film, “Mill Girls,” among others. Marci has trained with TIE, IDI, ICC, SAFD & NECCA, and is also a professional actor, circus performer/director (cofounder of www.diamondcircus.com) , and trainer/consultant on violence prevention and intersectional trauma-informed practice, in academic, professional, and community settings, formerly chairing the National Sexual Violence Resource Center’s Advisory Council.
