A Christmas Carol Participant Information

Performing: December 16 – 19, 2021

This version of John Jakes’ nationally successful stage adaptation specifically tailors the holiday classic, allowing young audiences to enjoy the real magic of theater—watching the actors create the scene and costume changes as the show moves along. As in the full-length adaptation, Charles Dickens is introduced at the beginning, starts to tell the story of Scrooge’s redemption, then brings it alive with the help of the others in the cast. All in all, this exciting new version of A Christmas Carol is high in imaginative uses of the theatre!

ACTor/Parent Meeting: Oct. 13, 2021 at 5pm

All actors and one parent must attend the informational meeting where we will share more details about the production, the audition process and begin sign-ups for volunteer committees.

Auditions: Oct. 19 and 20, 2021

All ACTors accepted into the production must take part in one of the audition workshops to determine where they best fit into the production. Specific roles will be assigned at the sole discretion of the artistic staff/audition panel.

Rehearsals: First Rehearsals:  Nov. 8, 2021 and Nov. 9, 2021

Rehearsals either Mon/Wed or Tue/Thurs, depending on cast. Both casts will have the occasional Sunday rehearsal.

ACTors will only be required for rehearsals where their character is called. Absences are strongly discouraged, and more than two absences during the staging of any single scene will result in the ACTor being cut from the scene. Attendance is mandatory for all runs and technical and dress rehearsals unless written permission from the artistic director is requested and received, prior to the audition workshop.
